Our Story

Our story began back in 2019 when the owner/operator (Ryan Stupica) proposed to Toni Parent and began planning our 2020 wedding. Unfortunately throughout the year of 2019, in the month of April we were given the horrible news of Toni's father's diagnosis. Bulbar ALS. By the time the wedding came in February 2020, Andrew could not travel and couldn't be with us.

Andrew Parent was the hardest working man one could ever meet. We visited him in South Carolina during the summer as we watched this retched disease take over his everyday, his every movement, his every breath.

On that trip, we vowed to him that we were going to name our company after him, in his name, and in his memory. He was not able to speak much but we shared some tears.

In the end, Toni's final visit to her father, the final verbal words spoken to her from her dad were "One of a kind", as he pointed to her and himself. The father/daughter bond was beautiful, irreplaceable and a devastating loss for all of us.

We have named this company in honor and memory of Andrew John Parent who passed of ALS in October 2020 from his last spoken words to his daughter, my wife.

One of A Kind Contracting plans to contribute directly to, and in partnership with the ALS Society of Canada from all proceeds earned during our work. We believe this is our best way to continue to keep Andrews memory and legacy alive.
